Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for ecological applications, island ecology, marine vertebrates, invasive species management, seabird ecology
Jarrod is a consultant to the Research Ecology group. As a biologist, Jarrod has experience in marine ecology (particularly seabirds), invasive species management (principally ants) and island ecology. He is a remote area specialist and has worked on sub-Antarctic Macquarie Island through to Australia’s remote Ashmore Reef. Jarrod has led Research Ecology's investigations into the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs, drones, RPAS) for biological monitoring, drawing on his experience in tropical, temperate and polar environments.
Jarrod is currently based at the University of Adelaide's Unmanned Research Aircraft Facility and is also completing post graduate research. Please refer to www.jarrodhodgson.com.au for more information.
